It’s that time – time for Mint Juleps and The Kentucky Derby. I’m not originally from Kentucky, but I can definitely get behind a sport that involves Bourbon, fancy hats and a race that lasts 2 minutes. Especially if I’ve found myself with a winning ticket.

Wherever you’re spending Derby, make sure you have the right ingredients to mix yourself up a Julep, be it Mint, Champagne, or Strawberry. See below for recipes.
Traditional Mint Julep
- 2 parts Bourbon
- 1/2 part simple syrup
- Fresh mint
-muddle these ingredients-
Add lots of ice
garnish with mint
Champagne Julep
- 2 parts Bourbon
- 1/2 part elderflower liqueur
- Champagne
- Fresh mint
-muddle these ingredients-
Add lots of ice
Top with Champagne
garnish with mint and lemon peel
Sweet Tea Mint Julep
- 2 parts Bourbon
- 2 parts freshly brewed and chilled black tea
- 1 part fresh lemon juice
- 1 part simple syrup
- Fresh mint leaves
-muddle these ingredients-
Give it a quick shake and strain into a glass
Add crushed ice
garnish with mint sprig and a lemon wedge

Bourbon Ball Julep
- 2 parts Bourbon
- 1/4 part Amaretto
- 1/4 part Crème de Cocoa
- Fresh mint leaves
- Crushed pecans
Add all ingredients except for pecans to a julep cup.
-muddle these ingredients-
Add crushed ice.
Garnish with a mint sprig and crushed pecans.
