Burgundy was the go-to color last season. So much so that my stationery group would send out frequent SOS calls for any burgundy envelopes floating around. This Foley Sonoma Winery begged me to design with burgundy paper goods… and that velvet is really turning some heads, too!
As seen on HGTV.com, Buzzfeed, and Aisle Perfect to name a few!
You may recognize this design from my semi-custom invitation line; Samantha. After designing this piece I decided to move her over to The Wedding Invitation Company so she could be available to everyone that fell in love with her. She was feature often in 2017 because of her burgundy color palette and delectable velvet details.
P.S. There’s also a “Cheese Cake” in this post… but not a typical cheesecake. It’s legit cheese wheels stacked up to look like a cake and I want one delivered to me every week for the next year. It’s amazing and a dream come true.
Winery weddings are a favorite because they typically employ rich, deep color palettes. Your paper goods don’t have to literally mimic that of a winery, with grapes and vines. Sometimes bringing in the lush greens, deep purples, and fresh yellows add so much more to the ambiance of the event than literal interpretations.
Winery Wedding Invitations
I lined the envelope and the back of the invitation with velvet paper and then made a cute little nugget envelope out of velvet, as well. I really wanted to bring in some texture and capture that deep, rich coloring that burgundy can offer up. With being in the fall, velvet is making a strong name for itself in the wedding industry and it’s a beautifully subtle detail.
I also created some fun menus that not only double as place cards, but also showcase a snippet of the velvet on the corner. These hues would switch out to signify the meal choice of that guest. The champagne flutes invited guests to Sip and Celebrate. I embellished the tags with velvet backs to bring in the perfect touch of texture to accompany the bubbly.
