Black Tie Horse Farm Wedding

I couldn’t say no when Refined Social asked me to create a menu for this black tie horse farm wedding. Brick red paired with gold foil and Claudia Engle calligraphy just screams gorgeous. But then again, when you see the entire wedding, gorgeous takes on a new meaning.

Sometimes I joke that I’m the menu girl.

I’ve created so many beautiful menus for so many beautiful weddings and I secretly love it. This TX bride knew she wanted to get married in front of the chapel her father built on their family’s Kentucky farm– but when she got engaged to a Jewish fella– what else to do but build a chuppah in front of the chapel to bring in the best of both worlds and set the tone for their eclectic fete.

The clear top cocktail tent summed up the bride’s style

Boho chic complete with custom made suspended barnwood swings and mismatched lounge vignettes with TX style margaritas flowing and Etch A Sketch artists roaming the crowd for guests’ favors. The Dinner Tent was built around an existing fountain and horse sculpture, which made for a stunning focal point. Guests dined in banquette seating arrangements, with the bride’s favorite as a starter, chips and queso. As the band wrapped up, the sounds of a DJ rang through the pool house drawing guests to a surprise after party tent.

Whatayamean Whataburger?

An acrylic pool flooring and modern red vibe with wood and metal accents summed up the groom’s more modern tastes. The slow motion booth was in full effect and then the surprise of the night ..a hidden Whataburger diner was unveiled– even surprising the bride/groom who were kept in the dark of these plans.. Custom menu signs, trays, cream gravy and all- the guests {and bride} loved this late night surprise!
